Use PCIe modules with your cPCI system. cPCI 3U 32 B 1L PCIe X4 is a Compact PCI device, 3U 4HP in size, 32 Bit PCI interface, with reverse bridge providing 1 Lane PCIe, external PCIe connector is 4 lanes [1 lane active]. Install your PCIe device into the PCie connector with the use of a mini extender card or external cable system. cPCI3U32B1LPXCIeX4 combines features you need with simplicity and speed. High quality 100 MHz reference clock supplied to Bridge and PCIe position. Option for Spread Spectrum or fixed clock operation [header]. Standard 6 pin power connector supplied for additional 12V power to the PCIe device if needed. Support for GPIO, EEPROM, JTAG, Global Address, and Bridge Power good LED.
J1 on the cPCI bus supports the lower 32 bit implementation of the PCI bus. The bridge is PCI 3.0 compliant with a PCI 32/33 up to 32/66 interface. The bridge is 5V tolerant allowing use in 3.3V and 5V PCI systems. cPCI3U32B1LPXCIeX4 is not keyed to allow installation into 3.3 or 5V cPCI defined slots.
Miscellaneous features: Four GPIO bits are available on a header. Header for write protection of EEPROM. EEPROM is not requried for operation and can be programmed for custom settings.
PCIe Power is filtered with LC components from the cPCI connector and routed to the PCie connector. Only one 12V pin is supplied by cPCI. If the installed device requires more than 1A at 12V the auxiliary power connector can be used to source additional 12V current. Standard 6 pin power connector [PC].
Initial units were tested with cable system to external mini PCIe motherboard. A mini PCie card was installed into the PCIe connector to adapt to USB. USB cabling used to connect to PCIe motherboard with external device installed there. Alternate 3rd party PCIe cables can be used. Coming soon is an extender to raise the PCie card to clear the mounting handles when installed. The extender will allow direct use without the cable system.

Conversion

Software Interface
Transparent Bridge with no requirement for programming.
EEPROM stores user defined special settings if used.
Interrupts
MSI interrupt from PCIe is converted to PCI [INTA] by bridge.
Power Requirement
3.3V, +12V current determined by PCIe module installed. Bridge utilizes 3.3V and 1.0V derived from 5V rail. Planes used to distribute power from cPCI to PCie connectors. 5V and 3.3V are supported with LC filtering.

1.0V LED iluminated when 1.0V is within tolerance.

Ease of Use
cPCI3U32B1LPCIeX4 is easy to use. The transparent bridge does not require programming. Drivers for the PCIe device will see through the bridge and access the installed PCIe module.

PCIe Specification Compatibility
cPCI3U32B1LPCIeX4 is PCIe compliant per the PCIe specification. All Dynamic Engineering PCIe Modules [4 Lanes and fewer] are compatible with cPCI3U32B1LPCIeX4. All other PCIe Modules which are compliant with the PCIe specification can be expected to work [accounting for the lane count].
